Procera^® Crowns

All porcelain crowns (we use Procera^® brand) are the most aesthetic porcelain crowns we have today. Teeth are prepared as normal and an impression for the porcelain crown is taken. Your model is scanned by a computer and the data is transferred by modem to our local lab, where an aluminum oxide core is fabricated. Porcelain is baked onto your core by Dr. Fred's personal lab technician to proper function and aesthetics. Although a little more expensive, the results are as close to natural as we can get. The light transmission of the Procera/porcelain crown is fabulous.

When a permanent tooth is lost, all teeth are affected. Because the support and chewing forces are altered, the remaining teeth will begin to shift. The tooth above or below the one that was lost will begin to move up and out of its socket. This accelerates periodontal (gum) disease and causes further breakdown in the dental arch. If the missing tooth is not replaced, more teeth will eventually be lost, due to improper forces exerted during chewing.
