Dental Sleep Medicine

Dr. Prehn attended a one-day course on advancement in dental sleep apnea, sleep medicine and bruxism. This complex area of dentistry that deals with sleep apnea, snoring and bruxism (grinding of teeth) is a complicated diagnosis and has different treatment for the different diagnoses. Snoring is not sleep apnea nor is sleep apnea considered snoring. On top of that bruxism or grinding of teeth is now felt to be related to both of these conditions.
