CAN A TOOTH BE PUT BACK IN THE MOUTH AFTER BEING KNOCKED OUT?:

Today a young man came in and he actually brought in half of his tooth in a glass of milk. I bonded the segment back on his tooth as a temporary measure. If a tooth is totally knocked out of your mouth, place it in milk as soon as possible and see a Dentist within an hour or two and we can place it back into the socket. Root canal therapy will be necessary and there is a fairly high probability that the tooth will not last for a lifetime. If you can get 5, 10 or 20 years use, it sure beats having a dental implant or fixed bridge placed at the time of the accident. All dental emergencies should be seen very quickly after the incident occurs.
